Electrical Problems

I had another engine put in my 1991 TOYOTA CAMRY. Driving down the road when I turned on my left blinker I smelled something hot. The right blinker came on and stays on. Now my windows do not go down and the overhead sunroof does not open.

I do not have the owner's manual to the car but did get the Chilton Manual. Looking for any information on line that can help with the electronics of this of car.

Re: Electrical Problems

elecrical systems problems are tough.A haynes manual has some diagrams but are hard to follow. I would say pull all under hood fuses except main engine run fuse. start car&see what happens when you install fuses one by one. Something should have blown.

I looked through the FSM for our '93 and the one common element seems to be the ignition switch. Does jiggling the key or otherwise manipulating the switch have any effect? Can you smell the switch determine if the odor is coming from it?
