Door Seals
How hard is it to replace the door rubber on a 1990 4 dr Caprice, Mine leak real bad.

It just pushes into the channels along the doors - a little rubber cement might also be used to help retain it, however it should come out fairly easily. The only problem is the stuff is EXPENSIVE - a couple hundred dollars per side - but it is still available through GM.

You can order through JC Whitney and get 'em for much less - and I think their vendor is SoffSeal. Make sure the channels are clean too.
The "original" sponge-type seals are the best, but I think GM is the only place that sells them. The SoffSeal units will get the job done though. The station wagon tailgate seal is a LOT, but still obtainable (for now) |
