Angry 88 Si 4WS Clutch Question

Have an '88 Prelude Si 4WS, 5 speed.

About two weeks ago, the clutch became much shorter and had lots of play. As I was leaving to go run some errands, I shifted into reverse to back out of my parking spot. A bunch of grinding and hesitation followed. After another try, it fixed itself and I was able to shift. After a bit of driving, the clutch became normal and shifting was easier.

Now, the clutch basically sticks to the floor and shifting is difficult if not impossible. Was stuck in 2nd gear coming home today. Does this mean a new clutch (weird, since new clutch was put in 25,000 miles ago) or does it mean I need a transmission flush/needs fluid?

Thanks.

Clutch slave cylinder. Located on the front of the engine block on the left hand side as your looking at it. 2 bolts and 2 lines hold it on. cost around $35 at the local parts store. Don't forget to bleed the line after installiation.
