Solution to Ignition / No start / theft system problem!!!

OK, so first of all, NONE of this is warrantee'd or guarantee'd or anything. I'm just letting you know how I solved the problem that has been plaguing malibu owners...

Take out the radio and heater controls to access the ignition wires. Coming off of the ignition-key unit are a bunch of cables.. there's a small bundle of 3 wires. Inside mine are yellow, black and white.

Cut the yellow.

There. Done. My theft system light is on for good now, but at least my wife and daughter don't have to worry about being caught in the cold or an emergency and having to wait 10 mins to reset the bloody thing.

I saw another post somewhere where this worked for someone else too.. I'll add a note if it fails again..

Just to add to drjay, this works if you decide not to add the on/off switch modification. You have to cut the Yellow wire while the engine is running though. If the battery is disconnected, the security may reset, so you might have to repeat the Wire cut procedure again. That's why the switch is a good idea. You would not have to enter the wiring harness again. Just flip a switch to, in essence, cut the Yellow wire again.
