How long do these things last before an overhaul is needed

ive got 85k and still running strong my dad had around 315k and tach stopped working and he drove it for 2 years after that before it died

I've got 383,000 km (225,000 mi) on my 91

It seems that as long as the transmission makes it past 60k or so, then it is fine. Otherwise, I've heard of them dieing early and needing a rebuild and are fine afterward.

The original tranny in my car lasted 180k before the previous owner replaced it with *egad* a normal LeSabre tranny instead of rebuilding the T Type transmission

98k and still as good as new with no repairs on the trans

Abouut 160,000 miles, but it's starting to shudder accelerating with a light foot, uphill, and going from 3rd into overdrive.

1995 regal with 180,000 but sounds like something is trying to beat its way out of the case in Park in neutral but still shifts fine so far.
