Replacement Panels - Door Steps

I have a 1988 Rally STX, 3/4 ton extended, passenger van, in great shape, except for the steps inside the driver side and passenger side doors with the rubber matting covering it (where you put your feet to step in to the van's front seats).

It appears that the rubber stripping around the bottom of the door has allowed water in and rusted the panel underneath the rubber matting.

Does anyone make replacement panels that can be welded in to replace the old sheet metal (after removing the old sheet metal of course)?

Also, can you buy the weather stripping by the foot so I can splice it in to my existing door stripping (the weather stripping is fine except along the bottom of the doors).

Regards.

Try Keystone automotive for AM rocker panels, might be what you need. Closest to you is Albany, ny, 518 452 7730.
