I just purchased a 1995 LHS and for some reason the transmission will not down shift. It stays in 2nd gear(limp mode). There is no leaking transmission fluid, No Smell of burnt transmission fluid. Was wondering if this could be an electrical issue with the TCM, or something else as the trac light in the message area is light but cannot engage or disengage the button. I have no control over the heater as it blows out heat with out being on, dont even get a display. Starting to doubt this wonderful looking trojan horse

Re: 1995 LHS Tranny Problem
First thing is to go for a code check on the eng/bod/trans computer systems with a body/trans/engine capable scanner.
A free OBD11 code check may help but does get deep enough for the good codes. If any codes post back codes. MT

Re: 1995 LHS Tranny Problem
if you can, find out what type of fluid was last put in the transmission. Chrysler transmissions are notorious for acting up if the wrong fluid is used. Only Mopar ATF+4 is the only thing that should be used inside of your transmission; anything else will cause problems for your car.
