NEED HELP!!!! New Plenum

Need help, there is a aluminum tube with a flange on it in the box with the new plenum, does anyone know what this is for? There is also a couple of small O rings, where do these go.

You are in the ballpark Paul, I found it's called a "Intake EGR Port Tube", not sure if it's used for what you said.

Can anyone please fill in the blanks?

It sounds like the improved EGR stovepipe modification. See link below:

The problem was first addressed in GM TSB # 01-06-01-007A titled Upper Intake Manifold Coolant Leak/EGR Stovepipe Degradation for '97 - '98 GPs with NA Series II 3800 and applicable to later models. The TSB requires inspection of the stovepipe area of the lower intake manifold portion after the UIM is removed. The composite material would melt causing loss of coolant, etc. If there is degradation of the composite material corrective action is required in the form of the modified stovepipe which is covered in the link above. Check it out and see if the pipe is similar. If damage is noted corrective action/replacement will require more work like removal of the LIM. Hope the info helps.

Thanks much bnaylor3400, they really don't supply you much info in the box of parts (I am sure most people who buy these know what to do). I didn't see any damage like that in the old parts, thanks agian.
