Clear Lights

Hi,

Owning a silver P11-GT, I am keen to get ride of the yellow indicators lights on the side and the rear of the car.

I visited my local Nissan dealer but they were unable to help me get clear versions of the lights in question.

As mentioned in the post about the sidemarkers on ebay, I am looking for the part number of the official Nissan clear side lights.

Also, I have seen numerous P11s with clear rear indicator lights, I believe it may be standard on some models, though again the dealer was unable to help - does anyone know the part number I need?

Or are there any alternatives to using official Nissan products? I think I someone has Merc side lights (can't remember who though ), how easy are they to fit?

hope someone can help

Thumbs up

Hi

At last i am able to help somebody.
The new Primera (P12) clear repeater lamps fit straight into the existing
hole in the wing without modification.

Can't help you with the rear but will let you know if i find anything out.

Lightbulb

The Primera rear lenses with the red bottom half and clear upper half are from the 96-early 98 P11s. The rest have orange indicators and clear reverse lights. I'm getting the upper halfs of mine tinted / smoked in about 2 hours as my mate is tidying my paint work up and I have to go and show him what shade I want.

I've checked & it was just a batch thing, altho more GT's
have the orange indicators there are some, like Kevins (P11-GT),
that had clear ones. I've now replaced mine with the clear type &
it looks much better (that was before I got my P11 1.6 & that
came with clears clusters.......doh).
I use Merc C class wing repeaters which only need a slight mod
& look the nuts !

U only need to trim the clip on the back of the Merc repeater
as the hole in the C class wing is slightly bigger, nothing else tho !
even the bulb holder is the same u just need an orange capless bulb

Got the Merc repeaters, but the buld socket is different
looks like I'll have to wire the merc buld holder into the Primera system!

aaarrgghhh!!!

the clear side indicators from the 1997 NISSAN ALMERA that are available from most modified car accessory shops also fit straight in to the standard holes and are the same shape as the original primera ones ( ie fits in the groove) and the only alterations needing to be made is the purchase of almera lamp holders from the parts dept of your local dealer for a few pounds and the jobs done ..... no cutting/bodging required!

Ive got them on my red p11 and they look 150 times.... no make that 151 times better than the standard units!!

I chose not to use the Merc lenses once I spotted the lenses from the new P12 Primera. They go straight on and cost about £7 from Nissan dealerships. Don't try to use the rubber from the P11 items to stop leakages. The hole gets too tight and the lense doesn't clip in. The P12 doesn't use the rubber anyway.

can't find the part number, I don't think they are 202 though.

Shouldn't be much trouble to patch the wires from this one onto the existing Primera ones, just need some insulated tape or something.

the bulb holder definately does not fit though, too wide.
