Question Wire..........

hello everyone,

Well this has to do with the "horsepower" post that I posted. I tried to remove the fuse box and I had this one wire on the bottom connected to some kind of wire. It is right below the fuse box and I tried to disconnect it and no luck, then I pulled a little and the wire ripped from the device. Now, it has connected to another little kind of clip and I know it runs some of kind of sensor thing or electrical device through the car. What I would like to know what did I rip and can I drive without? I need to get my car finished and running in the next day and if I have to order a part I would still like to drive my car.

Re: Wire..........

What color code was the wire. Can you give more information because there are several. The clip, does it look like an electrical connector with two or three wires? Also make sure the accessory vaccum hose did not get disconnected at the joining tube because you will lose HVAC vent control.

If it is the electrical plug and wires I am thinking about you may or may not have any problems. The wires feed into the wiring harness going to the area of the headlights. If you have a auto. digital climate control system you may not have proper outside temperature readings because it goes to the ambient temperature sensor.

If you have a manual HVAC system it is not used because there is no sensor needed. Look in front of the radiator on the cross support and see if you have an ambient temp. sensor. If not you should see an un-used electrical connector taped to the harness. If you have digital climate control it will need to be repaired because the HVAC system will not operate properly. Hope the info helps.
