just backs up my theory that he isnt as good as always was thought, he just had the best equipment. let him join a different league and see what happens.

I think it was too simplistic to say that he won because of his car/team or he won because of how good he is.

I'd say his streak was more likely the result of the combination of the two.

Why is it journalists have to take quite straighforward and sensible comments and blow them up into a big scandal. Schumacher made no threat as far as I have seen. Just made a quite reasonavle statement that he needed the motivation of being at the front if he was to continue in F1. Bleeding obvious if you ask me.
