Jeeps without chips or electronic engine controls

I want a jeep without any solid state electronics in it. Did the early wranglers all have engine controls?

Do I have to go back to the CJ's?
Thx

Wranglers with the 4.2 came carborated from 87 to 90. After 90 they went to the 4.0 and computerized and MPI fuel injected it. If you get one in that age range, I would suggest getting an automatic tranny because the 5 speed that was available was the Peugeot BA10/5 and its a piece of crap. Just plan on replacing the Peugeot if you go that route.
