2004 gold pkg-wind noise, seat height, door/radio shut-off
Just want to see if anyone else has these problems, and if there are any solutions you can suggest.
At 55-65 mph we get a possible wind noise that sounds like it is in the dash right in front of the driver, especially if it is a slightly windy or cross-windy drive. It's not constant. Happens more in the winter. It sounds like a flute mid-tone. We haven't brought this up with the dealer; it probably wouldn't do it for them on a test drive, if you know what I mean. The driver's seat is higher on the left, so we feel like we are tilted to the center of the van when driving. Not helpful for back problems. Dealership says this is not a warranty problem. Last 3-4 months, when we shut off the engine and open the driver door, sometimes the radio still keeps on playing (actually a lot of the time). If I hit the remote lock, it shuts off then; but if I put it in the garage and don't lock it, it plays til the 10 or 15-minute delay shut-off. |

Re: 2004 gold pkg-wind noise, seat height, door/radio shut-off
Did you buy this van new, from the dealer? If so, I believe they should fix ALL the problems, including the seat. But that's just my opinion.
Oh yeah - is that a power seat? As for the wind noise, there could be a couple of things to consider. First, check this page, that mentions some of the rubber seals around the edge of the door. It might help. If not, have your dealer look up TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) #02-08-58-005B - Windnoise at Base of Windshield (Seal Sheet Metal Seams). It involves putting some sealing compound along the body seams under the air inlet grills. As for the radio not turning off for 10-15 min. when you open the driver side door, I would say the sensor that detects the door being open is going bad. To test, open the door when the ignition is ON and make sure the "Door Ajar" warning comes on. If not, that sensor (or something in that area) is bad. If the warning works OK, the problem is probably further down the line (like connections to the Body Control Module - BCM). Take Care,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, bought new from dealer. It is a power seat, with heat. |
