Re: Sumitomo Tires

I have the HTR Z IIs on my vr4. They have been the only ones I've had on it since I got it.

I have to say I'm ready to try something else. These are great for the price ~$130 on tirerack. But I'd like to try something else to compare.

Honestly, my thoughts are this.

Dry weather they are great. I've only broken loose a handful of times, and under pretty extreme turns at extreme speeds, so I really don't blame them too much.

On snow they suck

rain I do hydroplane, but with AWD, it isn't too hard to deal with. Basically all around what should be expected on 18" ultra performance tires.

My one other qualm is they seem to wear down pretty quickly, I've honestly gone through like 8-12 in 15k, but on the other hand, I have gotten a surprisingly high number of flats, and my alignment is shot to hell, which definantly isn't helping.

So all around, I can't really complain for the price, but I personally am going to try something new next time around.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
