stereo amplifiers

Anyone mount an amp under the back seat of their XJs? Any problems with cooling?

I can't put it out in the open cuz my cherokee is used more like a pickup truck than anything else and it will get damaged. Also, I'm not installing a sub box either, so that mounting option is not an option.

What size amp is it and what will it be powering? If it's a small amp for powering small speakers then it shouldn't be a problem. But if it's a big amp for powering hi-power subs then the best place to mount it for airflow and still have alot of use as a pickup would be on the passenger side wall behind the rear wheel hump as it would be enough room there for it not to be interfering.

Re: stereo amplifiers

Thanks Dave, it's just powering 4 aftermarket 5.25" speakers, so I guess it won't be a serious problem. Dimensions are about 10x9x3" Tight fit regardless.
