Is the strut clunking? You'll need a new one, might as well replace the set. If you're mechanically inclined, a Haynes manual, basic tools, a spring compressor, a jack and jackstands, and about an hour and a half should do it.

Re: 2000, How to......Strut???

If its making a clunking noise, its most likly the strut mount. There is 1 nut inside the car at the top of the tower which is 13mm, make sure thats tight and the other 2 are welded into place, you have to access from the wheel well and are also 13mm bolts which screw through those. Make sure they are tight. A quick test to check to make sure its not the strut it self it push down on the rear bumper of your car, and if it bounces around, then your struts are blown. If it dosn't then the clunking is your strut mounts.
