Aber Mesh

Has anyone used the mesh patterns from Aber?

http://www.aber.net.pl/english_ver/e_nets.htm

The mesh S-18 looks like it will work for the backpanel of a 360 Modena.

Does anyone know a source in the USA to get it?

Thanks,

Gerry

You mean for the rear mesh of a Challenge? K&S makes a PE brass sheet that looks perfect for it.

Re: Aber Mesh

Yes I do. I have the K&S mesh (Specialty Shapes SSM-05) and it is really a fine diamond mesh. It is small enough to pass. This mesh is what 360Spider used on his Challenge Stradale.

However, I was trying to get something more accurate. I'm not a Bill Geary in accuracy approach, but was hoping to find something more accurate.

Thanks ,

Gerry

Got a good pic of the mesh? I know it's round holes, but I don't off hand know if it's a hex pattern or a grid pattern. The K&S sheet I have (stock no. 02707) is listed as 1/64 diamond- but it's not. It's a fine hex round hole pattern. Looks spot on to me.

I'm still using the S17 kind:

3rd attempt, not great but I used all my little plate
I cast in "3d" from a male/female mold but after I cut out headlamps mesh side, a finishing work needed
I find out in my LHS here in Italy

I've five it a closer check and let you know. I just was going by the title and what I'd been told. I'll look at it under a magnifier and get back.

Thanks,

Gerry

Well the SSM-05 is so fine that it does give the effect of being circular. It will work just fine. Thanks for all who've replied.

Re: Aber Mesh

Aber is very good quality PE IMHO. I am using their diamond plate stuff in my 2CV right now (painted it last night actually!)

If you want me to find out more or even get it and post it to you from here in Poland (might b cheaper) PM me, I am more than willing to help if you need it.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. That "Deuce" you're doing is awesome!
