Car Truble

I just put on a new head. Now when i crank it up it will idle high then go dead after while. and also i put on some headers and the car is louder why is that. My throttle body will make this poping sound and the car will try to go dead really fast if i dont press the gas. Any Suggestions...

Re: Car Truble

definetly sounds like a timing issue dude. double check the the valve timing, from what you said it sounds like its trying to backfire out the intake, which would mean your intake valves are opening during a compression stroke.

Ok ill check it out towmorrw and how do you check the valve timeing. Just do it like you put the car back on time. could it have anything to do with the distributor and also would that make the car idle real low then shut off like when im at a stop sign it will try to cut off if i dont keep tapping the gas.

Re: Car Truble

its gonna make the motor loose a lot of compression, causing long cranking to start and a rough idle. to check the timing go look at the thread "z6 fule no spark" i just put a post in there showing how to set timing.

Well it was the timing but not that i was off just the timing belt had been so old it would jump time on its own so i got a new timing belt and it runs good. I just got new white face glow gauges, cold air intake, and headers. I want to get a new intake manifold but dont know whitch kind to get.
