Vacuum Gauge - which hose to tap into?
If I wanted to install a vacuum gauge on a '93 - 3 cylinder - 1.0 L
Geo Metro engine, which hose should I "Tee" into? Is there more that one vacuum line? Some cars now have several vacuum lines I am told - all different lines with different values. I know where the MAP Sensor is - would that vacuum line be good for the vacuum gauge used for monitoring gasoline use while driving - changing gears etc? DoctorBill

Doc, Yes, I'd say the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure)would be a good line to use,it's manifold vacuum which has a direct relationship to fuel effeciency.Other lines on your engine that you wouldn't want to hook into might be throttle plate vacuum or some control vaccuum for EGR,etc. Unbe |

I just wasn't sure if maybe that vacuum line wasn't "Kosher" for reading driving vacuum - what one should follow to get the best mileage, etc. Just wanted to check with the people who would know best.... Thanks. DoctorBill
