Angry Frustrated with Idle

Hello everyone, I have a 91 Crx Si MT completely stock. After I start it up and it runs for a good 10 minutes, the tach needle sits on the peg and shows no rpm's....the car does shake a little but it never stalls. Here is what I have done so far: New EACV, New Distributor, New Plugs..Wires..Fuel Filter...PCV. I've tried to chec for vacuum leaks...I don't notice any. The timing is set right and the idle adjusting screw is fine. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Frustrated with Idle

So at idle your tach is at 0rpm? At 55mph in 5th gear does your tach read 3k rpms. If so, then maybe you need to raise your idle screw (turn counter-clockwise to open up). If not, then your tach is pretty much off. There could be other issues but it seems like you've already done some stuff. TPS maybe? Wouldn't that throw a code though?

When I start the car it idles fine....a little below 1000 rpms for about 10 minutes. Then the idle slowly drops until the needle is on the peg 0 rpm. My tach works fine at speeds and when accelerator is depressed. And the idle screw is set fine. I am not getting any codes. I have thought about the tps, but I was just looking for any advise in general that I may have overlooked. Thanks for the response turtle.

Re: Frustrated with Idle

OK everyone, I have tried everything so I'm assuming that my tach is off and not reading properly, cause in 5th gear at 55mph my tach is showing 2650 or 2700 rpm so it is reading low...Is there any way to adjust the tach??? If not can I just get a new tach or do I have to get a whole new cluster??? Any input would be greatly appreciated..

YES UR TACH IS OFF OR TACK OR HOWEVER U SPELL IT. WHEN U START UR CAR IT SHOULD BE NEAR 1500-2000 RPM Cold and then slowly drop to 500-1000 RPM so it sounds liek it is definitely off. crank it up a little. and as the other guy was saying turn ur idle screw couterclockwise and i have no idea where the idle screw is =DDDDD
