Batt to Alt. Wire

I recently installed a stereo system in my truck and read on a car stereo forum to replace the 3 wires under the hood with wire equal to amp power and ground size. batt + to alternator, - to block and - to chassis to help with power transfer. block and chassis ground are 4 gauge, but + to alt is 10 gauge. I put 4 gauge on batt to alt and my truck is running excellent. I used to have an intermittent miss in my truck and it is now gone thanks to that one wire. I also saw an increase of about 2 mpg in gas milaege. Something everyone may consider, i have a 95 reg. cab chevy. The replacement can be bought at autozone for about 6.00 and comes with battery terminal, alternator eyelet and 55 inches of 4 gauge. Took like 1 minute to replace. Very much worth my time. Just an FYI for everyone. There will be a noticable difference.
