Couple steps closer....

Got the radiator installed.
All the hoses as well. Including the power steering cooler.
Drained the tranny. Need to fill tomorrow.
I still need to add coolant to radiator.
Driveshaft loop is up, torque arm needs to follow.
Rear control arms need installed.
Wiring under car needs hung up properly.
Need to find a bellow to install between the MAF and the throttle body. The one I have doesn't fit.
Need to bleed the brakes.

Basic tune is coming Wednesday/Thursday.

Couple pics....

After looking at it...I decided I will be painting the area marked here.
It will be the same black as the airbox lid.

Re: Couple steps closer....

Motor is an LQ9 block.
Everything else is LS1.
Between the bore of the block and the stroke it comes out to a 402 cubic inch motor.
Big cam.
Good heads.
FAST intake and TB
etc...

Power?? I am hoping to hit around 500 RWHP with it.
Everything (minus the fuel line fittings) has been done in my garage. Either me or with the help of some friends. That is why it is taking so long.

There are still some little things to be done...but I should be able to have a much better vid up soon.

If you are going to get 500hp where you live, what do you think you would get where I live? I'm at about 400 feet. Driving near Mt. Washington I can feel the difference when approaching 2000 feet, can't imagine what its like out there.

Re: Couple steps closer....

All dyno numbers we get here are adjusted for my altitude/weather conditions.

My best guess...425 RWHP here/500 RWHP at sea level.

Wow.. I didn't think you would loose that much by gaining 5000 feet... Wonder what that does to an airplane?

Re: Couple steps closer....

Amazing isn't it?

You lose .5 compression up here thanks to the air being so thin.
One of the last times I actually dyno'd I had both actual and corrected printed out.
335.3 RWHP corrected (before cam)
284.0 RWHP actual
I even have the graphs to prove it.

Between the fan turning thousands and thousands of RPMs and getting the "ram air" effect, it doesn't affect the aircraft engine.
