Alternator

Alternator gave up the ghost today, not bad considering it is the original and done 252,000kms. Just looking for some tips on replacement.Looks like the best way is to remove the wiper mechanism etc first. Have the replacement ready to go in but it looks like a tight squeeze. Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: Alternator

it is a little easier if you remove the wiper module and cowling but you don't have to remove the motor mount you can remove the top bracket at the alt gives you room to access the wiring

Thanks for the tip. Installed the new one this morning, took around 3hours , pretty tight squeze getting the alternator past the mounting bracket. Found it easier to remove the wiper assembly But job done!
