URGENT: Too much power?
Alright, I really wanted to get the Type R DVC 12'S, but my parents said this is the last pay check I can spend on car audio, so I had to go with the Type E 12's, SVC. My friend that has the wholesale account said I should still get the Power Acoustik LT1920/2 amp, which is 370 x 2 @ 4 Ohms. The subs are 250W RMS/750 Peak. Is this too much power? If so, how much can I give these daily?
Also, is it ok to have my subs mounted so that they fire up? I've heard a lot of people online and a few friends say that it's a bad idea, but one or two friends say it's fine as long as you don't hear any bottoming/distortion. What's your opinions??

Re: URGENT: Too much power?
should be a fine combonation and your subs can safely be mounted in just about any position. ask your friends how THEY mount subs under seats
which is pretty common in trucks

Re: URGENT: Too much power?
I have my subs aiming up underneath my bench seat but I'm eventually going to make boxes for them to downfire in. I've always been told taht downfiring is better, plus, they'll stay cleaner without crap getting into them cuz they are quite dusty.

Re: URGENT: Too much power?
There's no such thing has having too much power available, there's only "not enough" and "enough".
No, firing up is not a problem for nearly all subs out there. Some subs with a very weak suspension may end up acting like they have an offset coil, but most modern subs have a stiff enough suspension where they don't have to worry about that.

Re: URGENT: Too much power?
Downfiring from under a bench seat will give you a crisper cleaner sound.
