fuel injectors

Is it possible for fuel injectors to become so clogged that the engine will not even start? My car did sit for two months.

Re: fuel injectors

I would label this under the highly unlikely category...but you never know...

Re: fuel injectors

Most likely not, as stated, do you have spark, spray carb cleaner in the intake will it start, basic diagnostics here.

Re: Re: fuel injectors

the only time it starts is when it sits for a while (it shuts down after two seconds though) I have tried spraying starter fluid in the intake and it did seem to give me a few more starts but i know i am getting gas into the combustion chamber because when checking the spark plugs they are always wet with gas. I also did a fuel pressure test and found that there is plenty of pressure (45psi).

Re: fuel injectors

If spark plugs are soaked with gas, No Fire.

Re: Re: fuel injectors

That is what i would have thought as well but when i pull the plugs out and to see if they spark every the front four all yeild a nice strong spark. And yet every time i pull them out i have to wipe fuel off of them. Something has to be shutting down the ignition system.

Re: Re: Re: fuel injectors

Also would you know where the inlet air temperature sensor is because my scanner says it is reading 84 degrees which is impossible when my garage is like 30degrees. Also my coolant temperature sensor also reads 44 degrees. Both the coolant and the air sensor always read the same values no matter when i check them. What the hell is up with that.

Re: fuel injectors

I beleive the inlet air temp is on the breather box.But if Im not mistaken you can unplug that and the car still runs.So I dont believe it would stop it from starting. If its getting fuel and fire, then the next thing I wander is,are my plugs getting fire at the right time.Cam sensor,Pcm and what ever else controls your fire
