95 jimmy O2 sensor
Check engine light came on this morning. Took it to Auto Zone to have it checked. Told me it was the Bank1 Sensor 2. Can someone tell me which sensor this would be? I bought what I thought it was going to put it on tomorrow. Thought maybe if someone could tell me which it was before hand I could take it back if it were the wrong one. The code is
90141 o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank1 sensor 2) Thanks for any and all help. On another note. Can anyone tell me where I can find the 3rd brake light at. I checked dealership and it was $107 bucks. I didnt feel the need to pay that much for a brake light unless I have too. If I can find a one cheaper somewhere else I will get it. Thanks Auk Last edited by aukster; 01-06-2006 at 04:52 PM. |

Re: 95 jimmy O2 sensor
There are a couple of things that are puzzling here.
#1 This must be a very late 95 vehicle or it is a 96, (or newer). Most 95's have OBDI, which use a totally different DTC code system. A few late 95's have OBDII. Consider yourself lucky as OBDII is a much better system. #2 Goes hand in hand with #1 The DTC you say is 90141, (maybe just a typo) OBDII DTC's start with "P" If in fact the DTC is P0141, it is indicating the downstream oxygen sensor in the driver side bank has a fault with the heater circuit. As far as the 3rd brake light, try a salvage yard. |

bank 1 sensor 2 is the sensor after the cat before the muffler. on that third brakelight, their on ebay everyday for between 30 and 70 bucks. try a local junkyard as well.
side note: my 95 was built in dec 94 and i have obd2.

Re: 95 jimmy O2 sensor
Sorry about that it was a typo. Ok another quick question.. is there a difference in the 2 sensors? or are they the same. ie I looked them up on a napa website and it only showed one sensor. any input on this?

Re: Re: 95 jimmy O2 sensor
You may have to look under 96 Jimmy; their catalog may not recognize 95 as possibly having OBDII. Or it may be that it's showing one number and the two sensors are the same, and that two are required on the vehicle. I'm not sure if the sensors are the same or not, probably are.

Re: 95 jimmy O2 sensor
Thanks..Checked Napa online with your advice on the 96 GMC and it showed 2 sensors. 1 before and 1 after. They both had the same part number so I'm sure they are the same. So I guess today I will put the old one back in and switch them. thanks for all help
