Yellow Eclipse with neon and working doors

Hey guys...My progress is pretty much done, but I wanted to post some pics of what I have so far until I do some final paint touch ups from some damages and some areas to fill in etc. Hope you like it.

Ok as you can see there is the spot on the roof that needs to be painted, doors aren't fully complete, but you can get the idea of how they open

I didn't realize when I first put the bumper on, but there is a gap on either side that I have to glue together, it moves easily so it can be done.

Here I am going to use the putty and fill in the holes where the spoiler goes...I'm not a fan of wings on an Eclipse, especially the chrome one that comes with this kit that Revell provided.

Hope you guys like it, I'm going to finish off the neons over the weekend and I'll have the pictures posted soon.

Haha I'm working on it...Almost done the neon, so I'll probably have to the pics tomorrow or saturday hopefully if I'm not too busy. Are you building the eclipse model yourself? (when you said about the spoiler)

Thanks for the comments on the doors guys...Those things take some pure patience to sit there and cut them out lol. I do trunks too, I put speakers and working ones in them...Keep an eye out in a few weeks for my Impala, I'll be making a thread with it in there, has actually speakers that work with a cd player, mp3 etc. Take care!

Re: Yellow Eclipse with neon and working doors

Looks sweet! The Blitz kit looks good in yellow, I must say. Those doors open similarily to mine, but I have different hinges (I hope to post progress when I get more engine work done to it.) Can't wait to see the neon, I thought about putting it in mine, but blue LEDs were just too expensive.

Looks good so far, can't wait to see some more progress!

That's cool. You did those door hinges yourself?

Ya man, cut the doors out, got a piece of brass tubing from the local hardware store, glued them into the car...my first attempt so its a lil ruff looking, I'm mad cuz the glue got on the windsheild and it looks like crap now. But yea used some paperclips, coloured ones to blend with the car, and bent them to perfection...there is a thread somewhere that I saw it off of a while back, so I thought i'd try it. But I think i can get some updated pictures, just hvae to upload them now.

Hey guys, I stayed up and got the neon done finally lol, well spent last nite up late doing them, did the pictures tonight. But here they are!

Sorry, Its hard to capture the lights without showing barely car at all lol but here it is...

Alrite, This is from the front of the car, showing the sides and engine compartment lit up with the neon.

Two close-ups of the engine with the neon in it

Its hard to see, but these are in the shoulder rests of the rear seats, They make the interior glow blue. Its the lights on the right and bottom right, the one on the left is the ground one because I haven't had a chance to cover it up yet.

Hope you guys like it...I'm hoping to finish the car by the end of the weekend. It won't take me long

Re: Yellow Eclipse with neon and working doors

Cool! So do you use an LED circuit? How about a power source?

Well the dollar store near my house carried these christmas light sets that have 20 lights, 5 blue, 5 yellow, 5 red, and 5 green...Instead of the usual lightbulbs though they were LEDs, so I just cut the ones i wanted out, stripped the wires and joined them together. They use two AA batteries. Each light set comes with them, so I bought like 50 packs lol, for a dollar you can't go wrong. Didn't konw when i'd see them again, so i just got alot. Better than spending like 3 bucks for a single LED at an electronics store let alone wire and power source cost y'know. Works perfect for what i'm working with. Thanks for the comments again

LED Chirstams lights? Never seen those... that'd be much better than buying them $3 a pop @ RadioShack...

Ya man, I had never heard or seen them before in my life. So when they were there I figured I'd buy as many as I could since I like doing neons and am not sure when I'll ever be able to find them again. I mean one dollar and you have the power source, wire, and lights, all you have to do is strip the wires and connect them the way you want and your set...for the side thow I did them like actual tubes...got those tubes from a Windex bottle, cut them n stuck a light on either side, lights up the whole tube. Its perfect. Anyways, ttyl, Peace.
