Get rid of my 99 LS1?

OK,

I still owe nearly 7K on my LS1 with 94,000 miles on it. Basically the engine is fine but here are my problems:

The front windshield has two sunbursts on it and will eventually need to be replaced.

My sunroof got stuck and an ex-bfriend bent it while trying to pry it open. It was stuck open so I went to a Saturn dealer. They closed it and turned the sunroof motor off (or disconnected it).

The front passenger door leaks when it rains hard causing puddling on that side of the car.

My coolant and battery light are on even though jiffy lube informs me levels are good. So, I gather the indicator lights are 'stuck' or whatever the term would be.

The interior dome light needs to be replaced.

Blue Book trade-in value is about $2500 for 'fair' condition. I don't mind making my payments and repairing it all. But should I just get rid of it noooooooow?

Is it worth it? I have three sons who will be driving in a few years. I'm torn between fixing this car (for my boys) or selling it to carmax now (I bought this at a carmax) and just going back to a used honda and cut my losses.

I appreciate any thoughts.

Re: Get rid of my 99 LS1?

Assuming you've given it regular servicing, your engine isn't even at the halfway-point in expected life. I trust you've also serviced the trans, rear end, cooling system, etc.

The other stuff you mention is not expensive. I live in Southern California - all the "Pick-Your-Part" type junkyards have Mexican locksmith, glass, weatherstripping, etc. specialists working out of the parking lot. I have seven cars, Chevys and BMWs, and have had excellent, lasting results from these guys for practically nothing.

Resale is so low, if the basic mechanicals are in good shape I'd keep it, if only for a kis' or second car.
