SuperCharged a HOST?

Call me stupid for asking this but when you supercharge your car are you realy getting your moneys worth? i may be way off but i thaught that supercharging a car just made it force more gas leaving your millage way down. do you gain a lot of hp? sorry i dont know anything about supercharging so please feel me in thanks!

Supercharging forces more air into the engine. In turn your have to force more fuel into the engine. More fuel and air makes more power. If done right you can put up some good numbers. A lot of research should be done before buying one and putting it on though. If you aren't sure, start browsing the internet and talking to people.
