tail lights

I just had my tail lights worked on because of the recall but now I think they're not right. I don't want to look too much like an idiot, but can any one tell me whether or not the top two lights (on each side) should be luminated when the car is in drive or park? I only have one light luminated...and I'm pretty sure that before the work was done I had more lumination. I don't want to take it back to the dealer until I know for certain. Does this make sense??

The lights will change automatically based on the ambient light (or whether the little sensor on the dash is covered). I don't recall if the upper tail lights are illuminated during bright sunshine or not... but I'm pretty certain that if only ONE of yours is lit, you have a malfunction. The only time one taillight should be lit and the other dark is during a turn signal.

The top light on the Trailblazers is the Stop / Parking light. They should always do everything together.

The second light (middle) is the turn signal only.
