middle seat

im having loads of trouble trying to take out the middle seat...is there a trick to it? i assume i have to take out the bolts and screws but the bolts WILL NOT BUDGE (they are rusty, its a 99) and the bronze-colored screws have six...uh...sides (as opposed to 4 on a phillips) how can i overcome the rust and get a six sided screwdriver

---i realize this would probably belong on some sort of tools and hardware board, but i dont know of one.

There isnt alot you can do to get those bolts loose. They will be hard, and you will just have to fight with them. Spray them with some penetrating lubricant, and let them sit for a few hours and then try them again.

About the other ones you mentioned, im guessing they are either Allen Heads or Torx.

Be careful not to round the heads.

Even WD-40 will work to some extent. Just go to the local automotive store or hardware store and ask them to show you some. Dont waste your money on something that seems too expensive, because there is not much difference between brands IMO. I usuially just buy whatever is cheapest.

Just spray it on and let it set for 4-5 hours. Then spray it again lightly, let it sit for a bit more, then wipe off the excess and get a wrench on it.

Hope this helps..
