Intercooler
Hi All
What intercooler is recommended for our cars for the money? What manufacturer, what stage,"gen" and most importantly price range. Thinking about going down to a 2.8 pulley. 97GTP |

Re: Intercooler
Try ZZperformance! If you want to go to a 2.8 you will need other mods besides an intercooler. And with a 2.8 pulley you will need a full stack intercooler to keep the KR under control. I also suggest you look at other heads, a cam, different rockers, valve springs, headers, different fuel injectors, an upgraded PCM, high performance transmission, colder plugs and a different throttle body. An intercooler is not a cure all for KR but it will help. There are other folks on this forum with more experience than me in these matters so they should be able to give you additional advice.

Thanks GTPDad
I have everything you described, except for heads, rockers and fuel injectors. 2.8 sounds like to much of a drop for now. Running a 3.25. |

Re: Intercooler
I agree with Lynn on the intercooler. ZZP is your best source and guys that are willing and can afford them run either Stage 1 or 2.
Are you looking for horsepower increase or trying to control KR. You don't need an intercooler to safely run a 3.25" SC pulley. The larger ZZP 72mm throttle body helps out a lot and 1.8 - 1.9 roller rockers would make a difference. A lot cheaper than the intercooler. My next mod will be SLP 1.8 roller rockers DIY.
