wipers only work on high

I have a 1997 Grand Marquis that the wipers only work on high also, they stop where they want to.

Where is the motor located
Also any suggestions on how to replace the turn signal switch if the motor isn't the problem

Try this test.


l Turn ignition switch to RUN.

l Turn turn signal windshield wiper switch to LO.

l Disconnect connector from windshield wiper motor.

l Check for battery voltage between Circuits 61 (Y/R) and 58 (W).

Yes
REPLACE windshield wiper governor.

No
CHECK for:

Open wire between turn signal and windshield wiper switch and windshield wiper governor.

Damaged turn signal and windshield wiper switch. SERVICE as required.
