Will it ever end?? Engine interference-radio
I finaly got time to fix my rear wiper button, dimmer switch and the front 2 door pin's( the switch things) in my 97 4 door blazer . Everything working great..... untill i went to trun on my radio. I have a primire dehp80mp, High end pionieer. With that i have a 4 ch which only 2ch's are being used for my MTX componets up front and a mono in the rear for my 2 10" phenoiox golds. I have Horrible engine interfence. When i turn the key backwards past off, it sounds fine. Once the car is "on" or "running" i have a really loud wining noise coming from the speakers. The nosie has one tone, and will raise w/ the RPMS of the engine. BUt if i bring the volume up it will drown it out. I by-passed the 4ch for thefront speakers and it sounded fine. So bad 4 ch may be? Kinda upset about taking the 4ch out cuz it sounded amazing with it. Now my subs are doing the saming thing. Becuase you can't hear distortion from subs i never noticed it untill i took out the 4ch. With the voulme at "0" or even changing between "tunner" or "CD", they kinda and hitting a little. Once music plays, they soudns fine, kinda of like the front, So no it brings me to belive my 4ch is fine but somthing must have been messed up. While i had the dash apart, I wired in a new set of fogs lights and changed, my rca to 1/8 jack cable for my ipod. These 2 things sound not of effected anything at all. I didn't touch the wiring for the radio or amps at all. I have no idea can any one help I did all the quick check like, all the connections are tight, I ran down all the wires all the fitings anything that may over time wore down, the wiring it fine.
Also it has done this before when i didn't have any aftermarket audio equipment in there, when i had a laptop plug in the the Cig lighter. while my buddy watched movies on the trip to florida, it did the same thing |

Id try those, I dont remember the name of them but they go inline with the power line i believe to stop ignition interference.

Coming from a car audio enthusiast:
1: check to make sure your grounds are good. 2: Make sure your RCA jacks are running separate from your power cable. Try buying a RCA Ground-Loop Noise Isolator (about $15 bucks) to isolate the noise that is coming through the RCAs. 3: buy better RCA cables. Twisted pair cables are excellent, and they don't pickup much noise. avoid running anything along with the RCAs (INCLUDING THE AMP REMOTE CABLE. THAT CAN BRING NOISE TOO!)

If you are not running an external amp, you might need to try a power line filter, possibly on both the switched and constant lines. I've probably seen Pioneers more than any other reputable brand of deck develop alternator noise issues, even on their higher end stuff. Not syaing you should stay away from Pioneer at all, just saying that it's a possibility that the slightest change in your electrical system triggered a deck problem that was waiting for an excuse to surface.

, My 4ch kenwood, has a High level speaker input. I can run from the radio the speaker wire right to the Amp and no need for RCA. But i lost that harness, So if i can't find one, I'll use a line level converter, that will tie in to the speaker wires to give me a set of RCA and run the RCA's to the 4ch, and everything should work BUt i m losing day light and will live to fight anthore day...... 2-morro. I may lose a little sounds quality if i have to run a line level converter, BUT compared to not useing an amp altogether I think i should be alright so JC327 was kinda right, But i guess i just had an internal problem that kicked my butt. Thanx alot for your guy's input i took everything in to consederation.

Re: Will it ever end?? Engine interference-radio
Its backkkkk. I noticed i was getting interfence about 2 weeks ago in the front speakers. The subs aren't doing it. just the front speakers. The amp running the front speakers is on the same ground as the sub amp so i know the ground is good, and im useing a high level input on the front speakers, so there no use for an inline loop ground thing for the rca's cuz there is none. Any ideas???? could the radio be bad?

Re: Will it ever end?? Engine interference-radio
I used to get this from my ground on a MTX blue thunder amp. you may want to try and filter the ground wire some. :/

It could very well be a faulty deck, that's not uncommon. As mentioned earlier, make sure your RCA wires are away from your power cables. This can often be the cause of alternator noise. |

Re: Will it ever end?? Engine interference-radio
Im not using rcas for the front speakers. I have speaker wire going from the radio, down to my amp, and back to behind the radio that lead to the speakers, the wires that run down and back are sheilded, and run on the driver side along with the rca's for the sub amp. the power wires for both amps run on the passenger side so they can't get any further away from eachother when i can, i'll try to move the grounds away, and see what happens, worse case i think the radio has had it. i think when i went from RCA's to a high level input was just a bandaid
I was looking to do a double din navigation dvd unit from Eclipse this summer thanx for your input guys

Re: Will it ever end?? Engine interference-radio
Youre having the infmaous Pioneer ground trace problem. Its an internal problem in the deck.
The only thing you can do to completely eliminate the noise is ground your rca cables, but even that might not work. Go to a car audio forum, and search for "pioneer ground". |
