need new idler pulley/belt tensioner assembly which one should i get..

and does it matter? its for a 96 cavalier 2.2

besides the fact that ones cheaper does it matter or are they the same thing??

no they are not the same thing. take a closer look at the pictures. You should see differences. GM was and is famous about changing S*it just to make our lifes difficult. Back when I owned a 94 cav, if you recall it was a transion year from one body style to another, well there were three different types of tentioners that could have fit on my car according to manules but of course you know only one will. I would go to the local auto store and buy every style there then take back the ones that you don't need or take off the old one first and then go to the store with the old one in hand insuring you get the correct one.
