93 Grand am help
Hello my wife has a 93 grand am with a 2.? quad 4. I think the tranny has been acting up but i am not shure.
I have change the tranny fluid and filter, oil and spark plugs. I did the paperclip trick and it gave me code 35. Dose anybody know what code 35 means and if so how i can fix it? Thanks

Re: 93 Grand am help
Welcome to AF!
Code 35 means that the idle on the car is 300 rpm either above or below specification. You need to replace the idle air control motor to correct the situation. Good Luck! |

I talked to a guy at auto zone and he said code 35 means there is something wrong with the electric control. Whatever that means. I think I am just going to set the car on fire and be done with it

Re: 93 Grand am help
Before you burn the car try the Idle Air Control Motor. It is located on the side of the throttle body and can be changed in about 10 minutes. The folks at autozone may or may not know what they are talking about but for less than $60 you can probably have your car back again.

Re: 93 Grand am help
Try swapping in a new plug wire one at a time. This year car acts like a tranny problem when a plug wire goes bad, even partly bad.
I've had this happen twice, both times it was a wire. |
