Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
Is there any type of drill bit I need in order for it not to crack when I put in the hoop pins or do I not have to worry and go slow? Thanks in advance

Re: Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
i used a standerd drill bit when i put my hood pins on. there shouldn't be no worries....just take your time...but be sure everything lines up right before u start drilling.

Re: Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
Have a nice sharp drill bit and I actually think it would go smoother if you drilled it at a high speed. If you go slow it might catch on the edges and rip big hunks out of it... But then again, if you go fast the heat may melt around the hole... Hmmm... I'd go a moderate speed and give it a shot. That way its not too slow and not too fast. lol

Re: Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
I use a step drill bit or a carbide drill bit to drill thru the 'glass and CF, Thats what they use at VFN for setting up body panels such as you are.

Re: Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
I would use a really sharp bit and drill it at high speed but dont push down hard, just take a little out at a time.

Re: Drilling in Carbon Fiber question
I used a small bit to make a starter hole then i used my dremmel tool to make it right, it worked well especially because the pins were not round.
