Hey, I have a 94 ford explorer 4x4 and have a leaking seal on the passenger side of the front dana 35 diff.
I have the whole side of the vehicle stripped down and I am having trouble get the axle out of the front diff. When I tried to pull it out I managed to pull out the outer axle(?) and am now left with the spline joing and shaft in the front pumpkin. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this out? or has had this problem... I have tried beating it out, but to no success. Any thoughts would help |

Re: 94 ford explorer axles
There is a clip that holds the inner shaft inside the axle gear. You will have to remove the cover plate and rotate the ring gear around until you can see the clip. Use a screwdriver or two to remove the clip and then the shaft will slip out.
