quater mile time

yeah i was just wondering what does my car do the quater mile in stock its a 2001 honda civic si from canada so its sohc. and would an intake make a difference in the time?

mid to high 16s just as a guess.....and it would help a little, but it isn't going to be a substantial gain...


someone correct those times if im wrong....

an intake isn't going to make a difference in time. Schister is right with the times for your car stock, mid to high 16s.

Manual LX 17.6 - cold air intake
Manual LX 16.9@83mph - cold intake, headers, 2 in exhaust, und. pulley

About what speed?

Manual LX:
115hp, non-VTEC, SOHC, ULEV, $17k (economy)

GSR:
hp?, VTEC, DOHC, $? (already a race car)

For me its not what the factory build, is what you improve on it...

And 7th gens are good for learning.

RESEARCH, LEARN and BUILD with a cheap car, not trial-and-error or pay for the job with an expensive...

That's my goal.

Wrong buy a 6th or 5th gen to learn on.
The car you own is made for economy. Speed would require a motor swap end of story.
Boosting that D is pointless and a waste of money cause moms mini van will still smoke ya.
