Mazdaspeed Tire Pressure Loss

I'm hoping someone might be able to shed light on a problem I have related to tire pressure... I recently purchased a 2004 Mazdaspeed MX5 with only 2200 miles on it. For some reason, the tires keep loosing pressure (starting at 30 PSI and dropping over the course of a few weeks to about 20ish PSI). The car came with factory equipped Hart rims and low profile toyo tires. There is no apparent damage to any of the rims or tires but at least 3 of them bleed air pressure. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Re: Mazdaspeed Tire Pressure Loss

well, i was under the impression that a person should check their fluids and tire pressures once a week and adjust as needed. if they are all down the same amount then there is nothing you can do about it. tires lose pressure over time .

gee, how helpful...

larrynj, sounds like your rims may be damaged due to the combination of road irregularities and low profile tires.
also it's not uncommon for heavy, large diameter rims to carve up rubber when matched to ultra slim tyres

Re: Mazdaspeed Tire Pressure Loss

Im guessing that road dirt has made its way up between the bead seat and the rim. during hard cornering the sidewall peels back and allows road crud to fill between the rim and the beeded area, the dirt creates small leaks in the bead, pull the tires off clean the rims and tires and install.
