Camaros vs Mustangs - WHY?!?

I gotta know, where did this all start?

I hear that the 4.6s have better acceleration but then a camaro catches up. I've heard ALL kinds of things but I still don't know why there's this RIVALRY.

And why do you keep saying mustangs are slower? v6 vs a Mustang GT, that's embarassing if you ask me. Is there a major reason for this rivalry or did you all just follow everyone else?

lol, without competition, there wouldn't be such thing as performance cars... the reason why performance cars were built was to compete with other cars... mustang and camaros are both pony cars from different companies... and in order to make more sales, they would try to better each other. chevy went the performance route (making the car faster, handle better, and brake faster) while mustang appeals a little more to comfort and driveability (reason why mustangs outsold camaros pretty much). and if you wonder why mustangs are slower youd have to ask ford, not us. about the ford jumping of the line quicker, that is the case when its 3.8 camaro vs gt stang... the stang will outlaunch it, but the 3.8 pulls harder on the top end... z28 vs gt (talking '93-'02), is a completely different story, the z28 will take the gt the entire way.
