1990 Supra Upgrades

Hey everyone, just bought a 1990 nonturbo with 57,000 miles on it. I was wondering what performance parts you could recommend to make it faster!
Already getting a $700 exhaust with no catalytic converters, and possibly a turbo.

Could the car handle being turned into a twin turbo?

What else can I do to make it faster?

$700 for an exaust! Who sold you that? For that price you could have bought a used turbo engine to drop in. Don't bother doing anything to the NA engine. Start by swapping in the turbo engine.

You must have a shady inspector if you plan on regestering that car in Texas without cats.

Sorry I should have said that it was being given to me. I have a friend with a supra who blew his turbo and he's giving me the exhaust. And thankfully my inspectors a friend!

Have they started sniff tests in SA? I know they started sniffing in Dallas and Huston.

Anyway, pick up a 7MGTE and drop it in. There isn't much point in working with the 7MGE. See if your friend will throw in his motor along with that exhaust.
