2.4L question

I'm thinking about getting a new engine for my eclipse. If my old engine is still good(Read my other thread and you'ill know why). Now what I want to know is if I could get the 2.4L engine from SBR and still have plenty of power with out a turbo or would I better off getting an engine thats not stroked.

Re: 2.4L question

if it's the 4g64 2.4l (without turbo you have 141 hp.) has good pickup though I drive a stock 4g64.
But if you have driven a turbo before you will be dissappointed.

Re: Re: 2.4L question

So I'd be better just getting the SBR stage3 2.0L then if I'm not going use a turbo right. Whats the horsepower rating for the stage 3 2.0 then.

not necessarilu... See the thing is from what I could tell driving a 4g63 nt and a 4g64 nt was the 64 seemed to get up to speed a bit faster. It depends if it's worth the money to you.

I dunno what to tell you. It's sohc vs dohc and thats a bit of a difference too.

Re: Re: Re: Re: 2.4L question

Well for some reason I got the idea of sticking a Stealth/3000GT engine in the car. Would it make the car a noticably faster. Plus whtat modifications would I have to do besides getting stronger engine mounts and relocating them.

20,000+ dollars later...

You will have a shitload of money into a project like that and you wouldn't notice anything different. The 3000gt/stealth motors are way heavier and cost twice as much as a 4g63 to upgrade parts. Unless you have a ton of money sitting around nothing better to spend it on, I wouldn't do it. But, if you do have a ton of money setting around that you aren't gonna use, you can donate it to the "blackcrow64 needs a built motor" fund. lol

I still haven't checked the engine yet to see if its screwed. If it is you want any spare parts from the enhine that aren't affected by the damage done?
