Doors Frozen..
1989 TBird v6 3.8
whenever its cold and wet outside, and my Bird is sitting for a few hours or so, the doors and the trunk get frozen, and can not be opened. well, the trunk i can open pretty easily actually but the doors i have to use de-icer spray to get them open. is there anyway to prevent this from happening???? thanks..... |

Re: Doors Frozen..
If you have a place to park out of the wet, that will help, otherwise I don't see any way of preventing it.

Re: Doors Frozen..
i was afraid of that. i dont have a garage to park my car. i was thinking about a car cover, but i'm not sure if that would work. looks like im stuck with the de-icer. it works pretty good and doesnt harm the the paint.
its just funny, because none of my other cars have ever had that problem.... |

Just a thought, but have you tried a couple coats of wax to the areas that are icing up? Worth a shot, IMO.

Try spray silcone on the weatherstrips,
make sure you spray the one on the bottom of the doors or it will rip off when frozen on the body. |

Re: Doors Frozen..
Tire Shine is what I use.
Or, if handy, good ol' WD-40. And guess what the "WD" stands for?......... "Water Displacement". -T |
