Angry 2005 Accent - Mileage sucks - Advise

Hyundai really went out of the way to advertise the Accent as something that gives 27-36 miles a gallon, almost competitive with the Civic.

I have a '05 Hyundai Accent that I purchased about 4 months ago and has 3500 miles but jeez, the mileage is just about 24 miles per gallon, LOWER than the low number (27) on the sticker. What gives ?

Is anything getting better mileage ? Is there something wrong here ? Please advise. Happy New Year to All.

depends on what kind of driving your doing. best ur mileage is gonna be is on the hiway at operating temp. if ur getting 24, ur probably doing a lot of city driving am i right? i would try to keep your foot out of it at stoplights, shift early and cruise through the city. however, if your getting 24 mpg on the hiway (cruising at 65, around 2-3k rpm of course), there could be something wrong with the car. take it back to the dealership, its got a pretty good warranty. my 04 gets at least a good 33 on the hiway at about 80mph but i noticed in the city my milage just plain sucks
