bleeding 94 explorer abs brakes

Hello, I would like to know what I am missing? I have replaced front calipers,pads,flex lines,master cylinder,wheel cylinders,rear flex line,new steel lines on the rear,rear pads and spring kit... Here is my problem I cannot get a good pedal. The abs light is coming on, but did not come on before I replaced all these parts and got air in the HCU. I have an article that says I need an abs test adapter in order to bleed these brakes properly but no one, not even my ford dealership mechanic buddy seems to know what I am talking about. I had the same problem with an old Celica after I changed the master cylinder. I posed the question on another forum and what I was told to do was keep pumping and bleeding. I did that and it finally worked. It took about a half hour of pumping and bleeding. I finally got some decent peddle but still had to re-bleed it the next day to get it just right.

Start at the rear passenger wheel and then go to the rear drivers side wheel then the front passenger side and then to the front drivers side.

Attach a pvc hose over the bleeder screw and run it into a bottle so you can catch all the fluid. If its clean re-use it.

Just keep on pumping and watch the master cylinder so it doesn't run out of fluid.

Hi, I am answering my own thread, after speaking with my Ford dealership buddy today and doing some research you need an antilock brake unit that it looks like the dealership only has. You also will need an adaptor if your model was built in early 94. (like mine) This unit plugs into the 40 pin plug that normally plugs into your abs module. And with a few simple steps that are explained in the Ford dealership shop manual will operate your abs pump and valves therefore getting all the air out. You will not get a good pedal without this thing in your backyard shop. I mean this you can bleed them until you are blue in the face and they will still be spongy. See you guys around and thanks
