Re: how much paint ?
Have you checked out all the painting info in the FAQ thread? I say that because yours is a small question - but needs a mighty big answer! There is heaps of info already in the FAQ that will get you underway without us all repeating ourselves here.
But to be brief (and therefor wildly inaccurate) About one full Tamiya can plus about the same of primer and clear if you intend to use them. Laquers are the best. P.S. Both the above questions pertain to the body only and assume no little disasters along the way (which hardly ever happens ).

Re: how much paint ?
It's going to vary for you. For me, a full can of Tamiya spray can last 2 cars easily, 3 if I'm frugal. If I decant the can and airbrush it, it goes much further. When I use pre-thinned airbrush paints, about a half ounce of paint will do the whole car for me - body, mirrors, spoilers, and chassis plate.

as for other question, try the search. There is a tread started by me about airbrush mixing.

Re: how much paint ?
Depends on scale really... I do 1:43 and a can of Tamiya paint decanted and put through an airbrush will do loads of models.
In 1:24 it'll do less, but I find because of the extra control you ave with an airbrush the paint will cover a lot more area than it would straight from the can.

Re: how much paint ?
Get paint from the store, you can decant it from cans for airbrushing or you can buy small jars and thin it using the correct thinner for airbrushing.
The whole thinning paint for airbrushing has been discussed here a 1000 times, the search feature should help you find what you need to know. Metallic paints are no different to gloss or flat paints for the most part, the real difference comes when finishing the paint. |

OK kid you are flogging a dead horse.
if all you see is Testors Enamel then thats what you have to work with. you can use it in your AB. *read FAQ and Tutorials and all answers will be told* please also.... if your at Walmart then look in automotive section as someone already said. they have paint there too. good lacquer stuff! no more questions please.
