front mounted trailer hitch

i was drooling through a truck parts magazine the other day and came across a front mount for a trailer hitch. it also had various adapters for winches, engine steps, spare tires and stuff. does anyone here know of this being used on a rodeo/passport? it says it has a rodeo application, but would it allow the bull bar to be used also?

this would be great to be able to temp mount a winch on the front or back hitches. what do you think?

There are a couple of bumpers out there. I have seen a couple folks with VX's make a custom tube setup that fits behind the OEM plastic bumper.

You can do just about anything with a wirefeed welder.

Re: front mounted trailer hitch

front mount hitch

to allow the use of this:
winch mount

if i could figure out how to use images, i could cut to the chase...

Re: front mounted trailer hitch

I found the photo of the VX with the custom made front one last night, but it was right click protected and I couldn't post it here. On this one VX the guy welded in a hitch to the front and then the used the stock plastic cover again.

Re: front mounted trailer hitch

damn copyrights protections always keeping you form taking the photos you want..

i have zero welding knowledge at this point. nor any equipment to do so.

but i can drill a hole and drop lug bolts in anything...that's why this looks like a cool project. i may buy the hitch and just see if it works with the bull bar...i can always send it back.

how fun would it be to have a spare tire on the front of you truck? spare tire adapter for front hitch then you could drive around and pretend you're on a japanese junk boat

Re: Re: front mounted trailer hitch

Well if you were in Denver and knew someone with a welder I would give you the hitch I cut off the back of my rodeo. The mounts were cut off and the sides cut down then welded to the frame. Its really heavy and not really worth shipping. Eventually I'm gonna post it on some of the other boards with pics of it for whoever wants to come get it.

I like the way Bansil on 4x4wire did the front mount on his wifes rodeo. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/505863/4
