rear windshield washer leaking
I just fixed 2 line leaks on my rear washer. It works fine when the vehicle is level. but if I park on a hill with the rear end downhill or leave the tailgate down on level ground then the washer fluid runs out of the sprayhead until the bottle gets below the upper pump motor. I'm suspecting that the rear pump isn't sealing when not in use and maybe should replace the pump. Has anyone else had this problem or have an opinion that might help?

Re: rear windshield washer leaking
A new pump won't solve it. Your issue is the check valve inside the tailgate. This is a common failure. New one is about 3 bux in the help section of your local autoparts store.

Re: Re: rear windshield washer leaking
Thanks so much, I didn't know there was a check valve. I presume I'll have to remove the interior cover of the tailgate to access it?

i have the same problem. everytime i open my tailgate on an incline, it looks like i pissed myself, lol. I'm replacing the wiper motor anyway so i'll throw in a new check valve with it.

I just took off the rear trim panel and the metal inner panel on the tailgate and traced the washer tube and there's no "checkvalve". What am I doing wrong here? Is there really a checkvalve and if so where exactly? And of course while the tailgate is down and I'm working on it, the sprayer head is dripping like crazy and stops the second I close the tailgate. I really want to fix this thing.
