Whe I start the vehicle COLD the temperature gauge alway going right to MAX every time I start it!! If I shut it off and start it the next day it still does the same thing...
Any suggestions?? We have recently replaced the Coolent Senor in it but this still bothers.... Any suggestions appreciated. Also i do not own a scan tool either. But it not giving any codes either when you short A snd B in the diagnostic terminal. |

Re: Temperature Gauge Problem 92 S-10 Blazer
It sound like the sending unit circuit has an open(diconnected?) The sensor and the sender are different. the sensor(usually 2 wire) is for the ecm(codes etc.) the sender (usually 1 [green] wire) is for your guage

Well that sounds like a good reason, as the vehicle dont act any different with that being on MAX. So got to be the computer is reading the temp ok. As I hear the Coolant Temperature Sensor plays a MAJOR part in how the vehicle runs!!
But it does make the Check gauges light stay on, now is that operated off the computer or directly off the temp guage??? |

I dont know if its part of the "ECM" but something is prbly monitering your guages for you. Alot of people dont watch thier guages so this is a system to help ensure engine life lol.

Did you replace the Coolant Temp Sensor? I just had problems with mine acting crazy ( Needle jumped all over the place) Replaced the sensor ( drivers side of car) and all is well again.

Did you take a close look at the connector? mine was really dirty and Oxidized. Take a look with a bright flashlight, maybe it could be doing it.
